Description
Hygiene skills courses are intended for individuals working with food, toxic substances, in educational and training institutions, those providing accommodation services, and other services where employees must be familiar with safe work practices and hygiene requirements. Under the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, hygiene skills courses are mandatory for organizations,
The training is delivered by professionals in their field.
Hygiene skills courses are mandatory for:
- Employees of educational institutions (providing formal and/or non-formal education to persons under 18):
- teachers,
- teaching assistants,
- social workers,
- social pedagogues,
- individual care staff,
- cleaners;
Those working in adult inpatient facilities or other social care institutions:
- social workers,
- individual care staff,
- cleaners,
- Employees of service providers (manufacturers of cosmetic products; beauty, tanning salon, and fitness club staff; accommodation providers; staff handling human remains storage, viewing, and preparation; children’s playroom staff; medical waste handlers; laundry workers; correctional facilities; police detention facilities; cleaners).
Upon completing the hygiene course and passing the test, compulsory hygiene skills certificates are issued for an indefinite period. Employees already working who hold time-limited compulsory hygiene skills certificates must retake the compulsory hygiene skills course upon expiry of the certificate, taking into account their profession and field of activity.
NOTE: For employees working with food, hygiene skills courses must
be taken every 2 years of activity.
Hygiene skills courses last 6 hours.
NOTE: hygiene skills courses for individuals working with toxic substances last 28 hours.
